Who We Are
Teresa L. Staples, Esq.
Ms. Staples is coordinator for the family law outreach and representation program. In that vein, she assists immigrant victims of domestic violence with such family law matters as divorce, custody and restraining orders. Ms. Staples received her Bachelor of Sciences in Law & Justice and English Literature from The College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College). She received her Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law in Hempstead, NY.
Prior to joining Boaz, Ms. Staples worked in firms in both New Brunswick and Metuchen. She has also provided community resource management for the Middlesex County area. Ms. Staples is actively involved with the local community; having volunteered with Women Aware, and is currently serving as Vice President of the Young Professionals Kiwanis Club of New Jersey.
Yessimar Santos, Paralegal
Yessi has been with Boaz since 2006, and is one of two legal intake counselors at Boaz. Yessi and her co-worker Mary-Angely are the initial contact for new clients. Yessi works closely with the attorney; processing immigrations forms, translating for Spanish speaking clients during interviews and performs a myriad of other tasks vital to Boaz.
Yessi is pursuing her paralegal degree at Middlesex County College and hopes to further her education in the near future.
Before coming to Boaz, Yessi worked at the Puerto Rican Action Board as a Home Energy Representative and Magyar Savings Bank as a loan representative.
